MIPS Planner 2026: Key Dates

Fourth snapshot for 2025 MIPS APM participation released on QPP (does not affect QP determination).
March 1, 2026

Last day to submit claims for 2025 quality reporting.
March 31, 2026

First snapshot period ends for 2026 QP determination and APM participation. Results will be released in July.
Mar 31, 2026

2025 MIPS submission window closes for all methods at 8 pm ET.
April 1, 2026

Registration opens for 2026 MIPS Value Pathways (MVPs). Deadline is November 30, 2026, at 8 pm ET.

Hardship opens for the failure of a third-party intermediary to submit 2025 MIPS data. Requests must be submitted through the QPP Service Center by November 1, 2026, at 8 pm ET.

QPP and PI exception applications are available. Deadline to file is December 31, 2026, at 8 pm ET.
June 1, 2026

Deadline to register for new registry-EHR integration for most registries. Check with the registry for their specific deadline.
June 30, 2026

Second snapshot period ends for 2026 QP determination and APM participation. Results will be released in October.

First snapshot results for 2026 QP determination and APM participation released on QPP
July 5, 2026

Last day to start a 180-day performance period for PI.
August 31, 2026

Third snapshot period ends for 2026 QP determination and APM participation. Results will be released in December.

2025 MIPS Final Scores available on QPP.

Targeted Review submission window opens when Final Scores are released.
September 30, 2026

Second 2026 MIPS eligibility determination period ends. Final 2026 Eligibility will be released on QPP in December.

Deadline to request mapping refinements for most EHR-integrated registries. Check with the registry for their specific deadline.

October is National Cybersecurity Awareness Month. Use this month as a reminder to start your Security Risk Analysis (SRA) and your High Priority SAFER Guide Self-Assessment for the MIPS PI category, if you haven’t done so already.

Second snapshot results for 2026 QP determination and APM participation released on QPP.

2027 Payment Adjustments released (tied to 2025 Final Scores). Targeted Reviews are due 30 days from this date.
October 1, 2026

First 2027 MIPS eligibility determination period begins. Initial 2027 Eligibility will be released on QPP in December.
October 3, 2026

Last day to start a 90-day performance period for IA.

Targeted Reviews are due 30 days after Payment Adjustments are released. Given that Payment Adjustments are expected to be released in October, the Targeted Review deadline will likely be in November.
November 1, 2026

Deadline for hardship requests for the failure of a third-party intermediary to submit 2025 MIPS data. Requests must be submitted through the QPP Service Center by November 1, 2026, at 8 pm ET.

The 2027 MIPS Final Rule is expected to be released by this date.
November 30, 2026
